Emmanuel Lubezki has won the American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) feature film award for his work on The Tree of Life.

Emmanuel Lubezki has won the American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) feature film award for his work on The Tree of Life.

Mexico-born Lubezki has already won awards for the Terrence Malick-directed film from a number of US critics’ groups, including those in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco. He is also among the nominees for this year’s cinematography Oscar.

Other ASC award winners were Martin Ruhe for Page Eight (television movie/mini-series); Michael Weaver for Californication (half-hour episodic series); and Jonathan Freeman for Boardwalk Empire (one-hour episodic series).

Bill Wages won the Career Achievement in Television award and the Presidents Award went to Francis Kenny. Lifetime achievement awards went to Harrison Ford and Dante Spinotti.
