California-based Ascent Media Group has announced a series of key appointments, naming Larry Birstock senior vice-president of media services.

Alan Silvers becomes vice-president of media services and Charlie Mitchell vice-president of the digital services group.

All three will be based in Burbank and report to senior vice-president of global media and digital services Adam Poulter.

Prior to joining Ascent Media, Birstock served as president of global integration at Prime Focus where he was primarily responsible for integrating the company’s global operations. Before that he served as CEO at Post Logic Studios and vice-president and general manager at Technicolor Creative Services.

Mitchell most recently served as senior vice-president of sales at Origin Digital where he oversaw the creation and execution of the company’s revenue-generating activities and was responsible for the acquisition of new customers including Comcast and Cisco. He previously held various senior positions at StreamSign Media, Savvis and MCI Worldcom, among others.

Silvers previously served as vice-president of new initiatives at Reliance Mediaworks where he spearheaded business development and sales of digital image processing services. Silvers also served as director of technical services at Cinesite and supervised high-definition mastering at the Walt Disney Company.
