A Shark Tale wasthe most popular film at the box office on the weekend taking A$2,541,304 forUIP from a substantial 310 screens. Audiences in Australia -- and New Zealand-are the first to see the animated DreamWorks title and it was helped along byschool holidays starting the day after its Thursday opening in a number ofstates, including the most populous New South Wales, and being half way throughin two others.

Other openers included Harold& Kumar Go To White Castle which took A$501,090 from 101 screens and A Touch Of Spice, on previews forRoadshow, and Korean film Spring, Summer,Fall, Winter ' And Spring from Rialto, both of which grossed not much morethan A$40,000.
