The Hubert Bals Fund of the International Film Festival Rotterdam has selected four new film projects to receive funding from its digital production category.

The four projects will receive grants for low-budget digital productions.

They are: Wang Bing's The Journey of Crude Oil (China), about the oil industry in the Gobi desert; Liu Jiayin's OxhideII (China), the sequel to Oxhide which examines the decline of a family business; Paz Encina's A Sigh (Un suspiro), from Paraguay and to be directed with manuel Nieto Zas from Uruguay, about two brothers on the run for a dictator's armed forces; and Eugenio Polgovsky's The Inheritors (Los Herederos) from Mexico, about the lives of working children in a Mexican countryside.

The Hubert Bals Fund makes individual digital production grants of up to $28,324 (Euros 20,000). The Fund's script development and post-production grants will be announced in two weeks.

The other categories, including script development and postproduction grants, will be announced in two weeks.
