Walker joins Cinetic founder John Sloss and Robert Nathan on the partnership, at the same time as the company announced it has launched talent management division Cinetic Management.
The former ICM agent spent the last three years at CAA's New York office and specialised in representing film writers, directors and financiers.
He accrued a client roster that included Sofia Coppola, John Turturro, Jim Jarmusch, Mira Nair, Julie Taymor, whose Across The Universe gets its world premiere here in Toronto, and Julian Schnabel, who will also be in town with The Diving Bell And The Butterfly.
Prior to CAA Walker served at ICM as the head of its motion picture department
Sloss and Walker said they saw Cinetic as a 'new kind of service company' that would create innovative structures aimed at serving film-makers and financiers.
'Film-makers and financiers have an unprecedented opportunity to take greater control of the process, from creation to consumption,' the partners said.
'We are dedicated to being instrumental in that evolution. Cinetic's move into management is a strong step in the direction of bringing artists into close proximity with ownership, finance, sales and distribution.'
