Voltage Pictures has closed key territories at AFM on the upcomingKim Basinger thriller While She Was Out which has Guillermo del Toro serving as executive producer.

Rights have gone to Optimum in the UK, Manga Films in Spain, andSquare One in Germany. Sales chief Nicolas Chartier also reported stronginterest from Japan and France.

The Voltage Pictures and Insight Studios project is scheduled tobegin shooting primarily on location in Vancouver in January 2007.

Basinger will play a suburban housewife who drives to a shoppingcentre on Christmas Eve and ends up trapped in a fight for her life with fourhooligans in a nearby forest.

Susan Montford, who previously served as producer on New Line's Shoot'Em Up starring CliveOwen, Paul Giamatti and Monica Bellucci, makes her feature directorial debut onthe film.

Insight Film Studios' Kirk Shaw, Angry Films' Don Murphy and MaryAloe of Proud Mary Entertainment are serving as producers.

While She Was Out is one of five projects in development at Vancouver-based InsightFilm Studios, which was incorporated in 1990 and launched into featureproduction earlier this year.

Angry films recently signed a deal with Rogue Pictures for a newhorror series based on the Faces Of Death property and its other credits include Shoot 'Em Up and Transformers with Michael Bay.

Proud Mary Entertainment is currently in development on the horrorsequel Cabin Fever 2 withLionsgate.

Basinger is represented by Peter Levine at CAA. Voltage ishandling international sales, and William Morris Independent and CAA arerepresenting domestic rights.
