In the latest executive appointment to the fledglingspecialty division Warner Independent Pictures (WIP), Despina Beazoglou hasjoined as vice president of business and legal affairs.

Effectiveimmediately, Beazoglou will report to executive vice president of businessaffairs and operations Andrew Kramer and will be involved in handling thebusiness and legal affairs for WIP and its development and productionactivities.

The pairoriginally worked together at both Franchise Pictures and subsequently theCanton Company.

"It is such apleasure to have Despina with us here," Kramer said in a statement. "That we'veworked together in so many incarnations speaks volumes about her. She is agodsend and we have a lot of work to do together."

Prior to joiningWIP, Beazoglou was vice president of business affairs at Senator International,where her development and production credits include Boogeyman and Harold & Kumar Go To WhiteCastle. Before that sheserved at The Canton Company and Franchise, among others.

Headed up byMark Gill, WIP launched in August and plansto finance, produce, acquire and theatricallydistribute up to 10 feature films per year largely budgeted under $20m.
