Belgian Fien Troch was awarded the Golden Alexanderand $43,000 (37,000 Euros) for Someone Else's Happiness (EenAnder Zijn Geluk) at the 46thThessaloniki International Film Festival.

VittorioStoraro's seven-strong jury also handed the film awards for Troch's screenplay, a shared BestActress award for Ina Geerts and a Special Mention for Natali Broods as supporting actress.

Mexican production Sangre (Blood) by Amat Escalante received a Silver Alexander jury prize, while the Best Director trophy was shared between HungarianRoland Vranik for Fekete Kefe (Black Brush) andFrench Emanuelle Bercot for Backstage.

Backstage'slead, Isild Le Besco, was the other recipient of the shared BestActress prize, and Pakistani Ahmad Razvi was named Best Actor in RaminBahrani's Man Push Cart.

Two more awards were introduced this year: The Jameson Audience award reserved for films in the Balkan Survey section went to Ahmed Imamovic's Go West ; and the Human Values award was awarded to Gavin Hood's Tsotsi presented in the Independence Days information section.

The festival closed with the presentation of an honorary Golden Alexander to Francis Ford Coppola.
