Berlinale international jury member and Mostly Martha star Martina Gedeck was named best German actress at this year's Goldene Kamera Awards which were presented in Berlin yesterday evening.

Winner in the best German actor category was Juergen Vogel, who last year starred in Doris Doerrie's Naked (Nackt) and makes a cameo appearance in Wolfgang Becker's Berlinale competition film Good Bye, Lenin! , while veteran German satirist Vicco von Buelow (aka Loriot) received an Honorary Kamera..

The Lilli Palmer Memorial Kamera went to Anneke Kim Sarnau as best newcomer actress, while the newly established Curd Juergens Memorial Kamera was bestowed on up-and-coming talent Matthias Schweighoefer, the star of Gregor Schnitzler's forthcoming release Soloalbum.

The gala ceremony with 900 invited guests in Berlin's Konzerthaus am Gendarmenmarkt also saw Goldene Kameras going to Hugh Grant (best international actor), Salma Hayek (best international actress) and lifetime achievement awards for Dustin Hoffman and Sir Elton John.
