Germany's Beta Cinema has closed a US distribution deal with Outrider Pictures for Leander Haussmann's feature film debut Sun Alley (Sonnenallee) with a release planned for this autumn.

This is the second Beta title to secure US distribution this year following Roxie Releasing's acquisition of Roland Suso Richter's The Tunnel at the Rotterdam International Film Festival.

Meanwhile, the German blockbuster Manitou's Shoe (Der Schuh Des Manitu) has added Turkey to its list of territories with a sale to distributor Sar-An Film, and negotiations are in the final stages with Venus Film for Peru, Ecuador and Columbia as well as with Rapi-Films for Indonesia.

Beta Cinema is also finalising a theatrical release in English-speaking Canada for The Tunnel, and sold Sven Taddicken's award-winning debut Getting My Brother Laid (Mein Bruder Der Vampir) to Italy, France, Belgium, the Netherlands as well as Taiwan. In addition, Japanese distributor Only Hearts picked up rights to Carlo Rola's gangster drama Sass, starring Ben Becker and Juergen Vogel.
