David Bishop, the president and chief operating officer of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) Home Entertainment Group, has been given added responsibility for the company's video-on-demand and pay-per-view initiatives as well as other emerging technologies.
Bishop currently oversees all aspects of MGM Home Entertainment Group's worldwide video and DVD operations, its consumer products and interactive businesses and its internet unit MGM.com.
"David has played a key role in charting MGM's growth strategy for video-on-demand and other emerging technologies," said MGM vice chairman and COO Chris McGurk in a statement. "Going forward, his leadership will prove especially valuable in helping us establish an expanded presence within the digital universe, as we work to successfully combine MGM's critical mass of library content with the explosive growth of digital media."
Bishop has been president of MGM Home Entertainment Group since 1996.
