EXCLUSIVE: Disney’s local language films grossed a combined $236m in 2014.

The gross represents a little over 8% of the studio’s $2.834bn total international gross for the calendar year.

Approximately $189m of the local language portion came from films distributed via Disney subsidiary UTV.

The leading light was PK (pictured), which remains active and generated $81m in 2014.

UTV’s Kick grossed $49m, 2 States $24m, Heropanti $12m and Haider $11m.

Besides UTV, Disney’s Hundraaringen took $12m, SOS: Women To The Sea $9m, Violetta $6m and Games Maker $5m.  

Disney’s releases generated $4.448bn worldwide in 2014.
