In a widelypredicted move, Brad Weston is leaving his post as co-president of DimensionFilms and joining Paramount Pictures as co-president of production.

Reporting toincoming Paramount president Gail Berman, Weston will oversee the day-to-daydevelopment and production of the studio's annual slate of films and literaryacquisitions along with fellow co-president Alli Shearmur, who was appointed onApril 14.

"I ampleased to bring an executive of Brad's calibre to the studio, and to haveforged, along with co-head Alli Shearmur, one of the strongest production teamsin the business," Paramount chairman and chief executive officer Brad Grey saidin a statement.

"Brad has strongcreative instincts and a tremendous track record in film that truly speaks foritself. While his past success with cutting-edge filmmakers is an obviousstrength, the full scope of his talents extends far beyond."

"Aided by BradGrey and Gail Berman's talented leadership, I look forward to developingcompelling projects at this important time in the life of the studio," Westonadded.

Weston served as co-president at Dimension from 2000 to2005, overseeing high profile film and video projects and developingrelationships with genre filmmakers like Robert Rodriguez and Wes Craven.

Prior to that heserved as head of acquisitions and development for Millennium Films from 1997to 2000.
