Brett Ratner and Quincy Jones are teaming up on the US-Brazil co-production Carnaval 3D: The Magic And The Music.

Jones will appear on camera profiling the high and low life surrounding the week-long Rio De Janeiro Carnaval. A portion of the film's profits will go improving the lives of impoverished Brazilian children and Hurricane Katrina victims.

Ratner will begin filming this autumn in Brazil. Capitol Films is handling international sales and the producers are representing North American rights.

Quincy Jones Productions, Rio's Tycoon Studios, and Mark Ross and Roger Kass are producing.

'The opportunity of combining the grand spectacle that is Carnaval and cutting edge 3D technology is irresistible,' Ratner said. 'We want to shoot this in a way that people will feel that they are right there in the middle of all the action.'
