Three winners selected from 15 student film competition.
The 15th Cinéfondation award winners were handed out in Cannes today, with Jean-Pierre Dardenne leading a jury including Arsinée Khanjian, Karim Aïnouz, Emmanuel Carrère and Yu Lik-Wai.
The Cinéfondation Selection consisted of 15 student films, chosen out of nearly 1,700 entries coming from 320 film schools around the world.
First Prize:
THE ROAD TO (DOROGA NA)
directed by Taisia Igumentseva
VGIK, Russia
Second Prize:
ABIGAIL
directed by Matthew James Reilly
NYU, US
Third Prize:
THE HOSTS (LOS ANFITRIONES)
directed by Miguel Angel Moulet
EICTV, Cuba
The awarded films will receive €15,000 for the First Prize, €11,250 for the Second and €7,500 for the Third.
The First Prize winner is also guaranteed that her first feature film will be presented at the Festival de Cannes.
