Carlton International has struck two deals with Spanish distributors to handle its Carlton Film Collection.

Manga Films has taken TV and video rights for the entire Korda Library, which features 33 classic films. This is an expansion of a previous deal, with new titles now added including such as The Scarlet Pimpernel, The Four Feathers and The Thief Of Baghdad.

Filmax has acquired video and DVD rights for nearly 100 titles from The Rank Film Library for use in Spain, Latin America and Portugal. Titles included in the deal range from black and white classics such as The Thirty Nine Steps, Blithe Spirit and Brief Encounter, through to contemporary classics such as Doctor At Large, The Fourth Protocol and The Fabulous Baker Boys.

"The commercial benefit of this tremendous library has been greatly enhanced in recent years by the growth of the DVD market, and the results of the Carlton Film Restoration Project, which allows for superior, additional re-mastered DVD releases," said Louise Pedersen, managing director of sales at Carlton International.
