Seth Carmichael has joined production and sales company GoldcrestFilms as director of acquisitions and development, effective immediately.

Carmichael, a former producer and chief executive officer of thePR, marketing and sales outfit Carmichael Films, will operate out of the LosAngeles and New York offices and will attend festivals and markets worldwide.

"There is an opportunity at Goldcrest that I couldn'tresist and I am incredibly happy to be invited inside such a great company withsuch a legendary history," Carmichael said.

"Film is the most collaborative business in the world andalthough we were able to do a lot with very little at my own company, I lookforward to doing so much more with the team at Goldcrest."

"Seth represents the first of many growth opportunities forthe newly invigorated Goldcrest group," Goldcrest chairman and chiefexecutive officer John Quested added.

"He has the experience and relationships we need to takeGoldcrest's sales and production efforts to the next level."

Goldcrest is in the middle of expansion plans and will announce anew business strategy shortly. Its credits include Gandhi, Killing Fields, Roomwith A View, and Chariots Of Fire.

Carmichael Films was founded in 2000 and closed down on Sept 16. Former partner Chris Pizzo departed recently to head up Washington Square Films' sales division.
