CBS Films and its corporate sibling under the CBS Corporation banner Simon & Schuster have acquired feature rights to the publisher's upcoming release The Christmas Cookie Club by Ann Pearlman.

Said to be in the vein of The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants and
Steel Magnolias, The Christmas Cookie Club centres on an annual
holiday celebration in which 12 friends trade home-made cookies and
share personal highs and lows from the preceding 12 months.

Wendy Finerman will produce through Wendy Finerman Productions banner and Pearlman's literary manager Peter Miller serves as executive
producer.

'Every woman can relate to the importance of friendship theme
celebrated in Ann's book,' CBS Films president and CEO Amy Baer said.
'Her unique way of illustrating that bond, and weaving the rich
stories of these women into this modern holiday ritual, makes for a
very special piece of material.'

The Christmas Cookie Club will be published in hardcover by Atria
Books in November 2009. Simon & Schuster is handling worldwide
publication in the UK, Canada, and Australia.

CBS Films is currently in pre-production on drama The Untitled Crowley
Project
starring Harrison Ford, Brendan Fraser and Keri Russell, and
romantic comedy Plan B with Jennifer Lopez.
