The British star will play Col Percival Fawcett opposite Sienna Miller and Robert Pattinson in James Gray’s adventure that Sierra/Affinity represents at the EFM.

MICA Entertainment will finance the adaptation of David Grann’s bestseller about a British colonial who disappeared in the 1920s while searching for a mythical city in the Amazon. CAA represents US rights.

Brad Pitt, who was once lined up to play the lead when the long-gestating project was set up at the now defunct Inferno Entertainment, will produce with Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner via Plan B Entertainment alongside Dale Johnson and Anthony Katagas.

Production on The Lost City Of Z is scheduled to commence this summer.  Marc Butan will serve as executive producer with MICA’s Julie B May and Glenn Murray.

Hunnam is in production on Warner Bros’ Knights Of The Round Table: King Arthur for Guy Ritchie, in which he plays the king.

He will next be seen in Guillermo del Toro’s Crimson Peak and the sequel to Legendary’s Pacific Rim.
