Closer added an estimated $10.1m on 2,353 screens in 28markets through Sony Pictures Releasing International (SPRI) at the weekend,bumping up its international cumulative total to $44.4m.
Highlights were $1.6m on 330 in Australia for an unconfirmed ranking, $235,000on 27 in Holland for third place, and a $215,000 number one debut in Taiwan on19 screens in Taipei.
The drama added $1.8m on 330 in its third weekend in the UK to rank second on$11.1m. Latest totals released by SPRI executives put Spain on $4.1m, France on$4.9m and Brazil on $1.8m - all after two weekends - and Germany on $6.1m afterthree.
