Cinema Management Group has picked up international rights to DavePayne's Reeker andplans to screen the horror picture in Toronto on Sept 10 outside the festival asa de facto "international market premiere."

Reekerhas been a festival staple of late, earning strong reviews followingappearances at South by Southwest, Tribeca Film Festival and Montreal'sFantasia Film Fest, among others.

The story of five partygoers who chance upon a desertmotel and find themselves trapped in a no man's land between the living and thedead stars Devon Gummersall, Derek Richardson, and Arielle Kebbel. Eric Mabius,Marcia Strassman and Michael Ironside round out the main cast.

Reekerwas produced by The Institution partners Payne and Tina Illman, as well asPariah vice president of feature production Amanda Klein. Ronnie Apteker servedas executive producers.

"This is quite an intelligent horror thriller with a fabuloustwist at the end," CMG's Edward Noeltner said. Cinetic Media is representingdomestic rights and a deal is expected to be announced shortly.

CMG'sinternational sales slate includes the 3-D CGI animated Hoodwinked! The TrueStory Of Red Riding Hood,which The Weinstein Company will release in North America in December, and theanimated feature Conan: Red Nails, which will be released next summer through New Line HomeEntertainment.
