Germany's Constantin Film has reported that turnover doubled to $57.6m (DM125.1m) and pre-tax profit increased to $4.8m (DM10.4m) in the first half of the current financial year.

Constantin boasts a 34% share of the German distribution market and has also had success with its own productions during 2000 including Harte Jungs and Erkan & Stefan which racked up 3 million admissions between them. Constantin's first collaboration with producing team Jakob Clausen and Thomas Wobke, Crazy, has so far sold 1.3 million tickets.

Constantin is remaking Harte Jungs in English through its joint venture with LA-based production outfit Propaganda Films (Screendaily, May 15).
