French directorAlain Corneau will preside over the jury for the main competition at theDeauville Festival of American Film, running from September 2-11.

American writerand director James Toback will be the subject of a special tribute fromDeauville, while a retrospective of boxing films will also be shown. Tying inwith the pugilistic theme, Deauville will host the French premiere of RonHoward's boxing drama Cinderella Man, starring Russell Crowe.

Announcing earlydetails of the programme, Deauville confirmed that the Normandy festival's PrixMichel D'Ornano will go to Karin Albou's Cannes Critics Week entry La PetiteJerusalem. The film stars Fanny Valette, Elsa Zylberstein and BrunoTodeschini. Ocean Films is handling French distribution.

The d'Ornanoaward, voted on by film journalists working in Paris, comes with a cash prizeof Euros 4,500 for the screenwriter - in this case Albou - and Euros 12,000 forthe film's local distributor.
