Alysia Cotter has joined Burbank-based Legendary Pictures in thenewly created role of vice president of creative affairs.

Cotter (pictured) will report to Legendary's chief creativeofficer Jon Jashni and assist in managing Legendary's development andproduction slate.

Legendary Pictures formed a partnership with Warner Bros in 2005to co-produce and co-finance at least 25 pictures during an initial five-yearterm. The deal includes a first-look distribution arrangement.

The company operates from the Warner Bros lot in Burbank,California. Legendary Pictures' first picture was Batman Begins, and future releases include SupermanReturns, M NightShyamalan's Lady In The Water, and Roland Emmerich's 10,000 B.C.

Cotter started her career as a creative assistant to Jeff Robinov,now Warner Bros' president of production, and also worked for Barry Levinson andPaula Weinstein at Baltimore/Spring Creek.

She returned to Warner Bros as a creative executive working onprojects such as Batman Begins, Chasing Vermeer, Gothika, Taking Lives and The Lake House.

She is also serving as executive producer on Market Forces and The Spook's Apprentice with Warner Bros-based Thunder RoadProductions.
