Kimmel International has boarded David Slade's political thriller Unthinkable, which is set to go before cameras this summer.

Michael Mendelsohn and Caldecot Chubb are producing through their Patriot Pictures and ChubbCo Film Co ventures.

The story centres on a race by interrogators to force a man to reveal the location of three nuclear devices hidden somewhere in the US. Peter Woodward and Oren Moverman wrote the screenplay and casting announcements are expected shortly.

Slade most recently directed the vampire saga 30 Days Of Night, which went on release last year.

'We are very excited with the addition of David Slade to the already outstanding screenplay,' Chubb said. 'His vision and skill with stories of suspense and psychological manipulation sets up an exceptional and timely project and we are delighted to be partners on the film.'

Chubb's credits include Dark Blue, Eve's Bayou and Pootie Tang. Mendelsohn has produced Lord Of War and Material Girls, among others.

Kimmel International's EFM slate includes Synecdoche, New York, as well as Management, Ye Olde Times, Married Times and Death At A Funeral.
