British filmmaker Gaby Dellal, whose film On A Clear Dayscreened to an enthusiastic response at the Locarno Film Festival at theweekend, is to team up with producers Dorothy Berwin and Sarah Curtis on asecond project.

The new film, again to be scripted by Alex Rose, has theworking title Excess Baggage. Set in New York and Russia, it is a familydrama.

Meanwhile, Dellal is also attached to direct 10 SecondsFrom The Sun, an adaptation of the novel by Russell Celyn Jones. The bookis owned and is being packaged as a film project by agents AP Watt (who alsorepresent Dellal.)

It is the story of a former child-killer who attempts torebuild his life. He has gone on to marry and start a family, but his past sooncatches up with him.

It is yet to be confirmed whoich of the two projects willshoot first.

On A Clear Day, about an unemployed 55-year-oldman who redeems his life by swimming the English Channel, received its worldpremiere in Sundance. It is being released by Icon in the UK next month. FocusFeatures is handling the US release, which is expected to be in the Spring of2006.
