The world premiere of Disney’s Hindi-language action adventure written and directed by Satyajit Bhatkal will close the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles on Apr 17.

Zokkomon is set for a limited theatrical release on Apr 22 in the US and stars Darsheel Safary, Anupam Kher and Manjiri Phadnis.

Nila Madhab Panda’s I Am Kalam will open the event, which will screen 13 features and 13 shorts. The roster includes the world premiere of documentary I Am… and Big In Bollywood. US premieres include AnUnfinished Letter (Iti Mrinalini) and Virgin Goat (LaadliLaili).

The Bollywood By Night series will screen three popular titles: drama Mumbai Diaries (Dhobi Ghat) starring Aamir Khan, rom-com The Wedding Planner (Band Bajaa Baaraat) and sci-fi fantasy TheRobot (Endhiran) starring Aishwarya Rai and Rajnikanth.  

“This year’s selections were selected not only for their great storytelling, but because each reflects the creativity, colour, pace, and surprises that truly represent Indian culture and cinema,” the festival’s executive director Christina Marouda said.
