Cologne-based sales company Media Luna has picked up three new titles – A Fold In My Blanket, Three Kids and Jackie - ahead of this year’s European Film Market (EFM) after acquiring two local Dutch titles – Matterhorn and How To Describe A Cloud - in Rotterdam earlier this week.
Tbilisi-born film-maker Zaza Rusadze’s feature debut A Fold In My Blanket will have its world premiere as the opening film of this year’s Panorama on Feb 7, while Jonas d’Adesky’s Three Kids about the daily struggle of three friends in Haiti’s Port au Prince after the devastating earthquake will have its European premiere in Generation 14plus on Feb 12.
The third acquisition is Antoinette Beumer dramedy Jackie, starring Holly Hunter, Carice and Jelka van Houten, which was first shown in Toronto and will be screened at the EFM on Feb 10.
Media Luna’s Ida Martins revealed to Screen Daily that Jackie has already been sold to Schwarzweiss Film Verleih (Germany), Orland Films (Israel) and Tribeca Enterprises (North America).
In addition, Diederik Ebbinge’s feature debut, the tragicomedy Matterhorn, which had its world premiere in Rotterdam, will have a screening slot in the EFM.
