Aktis Film International has acquired the international distribution rights for Ziska Riemann’s feature debut Lollipop Monster which has its international premiere in Karlovy Vary’s main competition today (July 6).
The coming of age story had its world premiere in the Perspektive Deutsches Kino sidebar at the Berlinale in February where it won the Femina Film Preis for costume designer Julia Brandes.
Salzgeber & Co will be releaseing the comic pop drama in German cinemas on 25 August.
Reference funding from the German Federal Film Board is based on a film’s box office, festival and awards performance.
4k restoration to go on nationwide release in summer.
