Leading Swiss independent distributor Ascot Elite Entertainment has now put its German theatrical arm Ascot Elite Filmverleih, in place to begin with its first release – Rodrigo Cortes’ Buried - this autumn.

Marketing of the new outfit’s releases will be coordinated by Markus Zabinski, Head of Marketing and PR at Ascot Elite Home Entertainment in Stuttgart.

Ascot Elite Entertainment’s CEO Ralph Dietrich pointed out that the return of his company to the German theatrical market after a 15-year break provided a “unique combination” that would lead to a “seamless and integrated distribution system”. “Not many film companies combine theatrical distribution and marketing, home video and TV sales all under one umbrella,” he noted.

The release of Buried will then be followed by J Blakeson’s The Disappearance of Alice Creed, with Gemma Arterton; Robert De Niro, Edward Norton and Milla Jovovich in John Curran’s psychological thriller Stone; Walter Hill’s St. Vincent, starring Pierce Brosnan and Billy Bob Thornton; and John Michael McDonagh’s thriller The Guard, with Brendan Gleeson and Don Cheadle.
