Image Entertainment has taken US rights from Toronto-based Cinemavault to Julius Kemp’s horror tale ReykjavikWhale Watching Massacre.

Cinemavault announced it has closed further international sales to Telepool in Germany, ICO/Bac Films in France, Uplink in Japan, Mirax in Hungary, Pegas Film for the Czech Republic and Slovakia. As previously reported, E1 acquired UK rights in late 2009.

Ingvar Thordarson, Gisli Gislason and Kemp of the Icelandic Film Company produced Reykjavik Whale Watching Massacre, about a group of stranded tourists who are rescued by demented fishermen. Gunnar Hansen stars.

UK-based Mike Downey and Sam Taylor of Film And Music Entertainment also produced alongside Finland’s Solar Films.
