EXCLUSIVE: The distributor has acquired US and Canadian theatrical and festival rights to Ziad Doueiri’s drama, which as announced on Tuesday will screen as a special presentation at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.

Wild Bunch holds international rights to 3B Productions’ adaptation of Yasmina Khadra’s international bestseller. The Attack (pictured) is a French film in Arabic and Hebrew that follows an Israeli-Palestinian surgeon who discovers his wife’s involvement in a suicide bomb and enters Palestinian territory to find the people who recruited her.

Cohen Media Group did not return calls about the acquisition. As previously announced, the company holds US rights to Francois Ozon’s Toronto special presentation In The House. eOne is the Canadian distributor on that French drama and Wild Bunch handles international sales.

Meanwhile it has emerged that Brainstorm Media has set a Nov 2 US theatrical release for A Liar’s Autobiography – The Untrue Story Of Monty Python’s Graham Chapman, another title set to receive its world premiere in Toronto.

The special presentation charts the bizarre life of the Monty Python member through interviews, recordings and animation from 14 animators.

The film will go out on US TV through EPIX and Trinity is handling UK theatrical distribution while eOne will release in Canada.
