The US distributor has picked up all US rights from Elle Driver to Cherien Dabis’ Amreeka follow-up after its recent world premiere in Sundance.

Dabis makes her acting debut in her English-language story about a sophisticated New Yorker who returns to her native Jordan for her own wedding and begins to question her upcoming commitment.

Displaced Pictures, Anonymous Content and Durga Entertainment produced the comedy-drama.

Cohen Media Group plans a theatrical release in major markets for May In The Summer after evp Gary Rubin negotiated the deal with Adeline Fontan Tessaur of Elle Driver.
