EXCLUSIVE: The Los Angeles-based boutique sales agency founded by James Andrew Felts and Matthew Shreder has licensed the horror film to Kaleidoscope Entertainment.

The UK distributor plans a 2014 release for the film starring Annie Clark from Nickelodeon’s longest-running teen television show Degrassi as a counsellor at a remote summer camp who must spend two nights by herself on a haunted island as part of her initiation.

Isaac Cravit wrote and directed Solo and Robert Budreau and Chris Bennett served as producers.

Solo is scheduled to open this month in North America through The Orchard Film Distribution, which also holds rights in Australia and South Africa.

“Spencer Pollard has a great track record within the competitive UK marketplace and continues to demonstrate his ability to stay ahead of the trends,” said Continental co-head Shreder, who negotiated the deal with Pollard.

“He took notice of the rising female demo and their vitality within the genre space and jumped on this title, which we have no doubt will perform for him.”
