Together with partner and merchandising specialists the National Entertainment Collectibles Association, Wrekin Hill announced on Thursday (Feb 23) that Morgan Spurlock’s Comic-Con Episode IV – A Fan’s Hope (pictured) will kick off its travelling showcase on Apr 5 in Atlanta.
The tour will take in Chicago and Detroit, among others over the following two weeks. The documentary will also launch in traditional theatres on Apr 6.
- Cinema Guild has acquired all US rights to Seung-jun Yi’s award-winning documentary Planet Of Snail, about a blind man’s interactions with his environment. The distributor plans a summer theatrical release after Ryan Krivoshey negotiated the deal with Catherine Le Clef of CAT&Docs.
TLA Releasing has acquired all UK, Poland and Philippines rights to Peter Bratt’s drama La Mission starring Benjamin Bratt as a reformed ex-con who disowns his beloved son when he learns he is gay. TLA Releasing president Derek Curl negotiated rights with Maya Entertainment’s vp of international distribution Jack Campbell.
- GoDigital has secured VoD rights to Dangertrain Films’ rom-com Nesting directed by John Chuldenko. PMK*BNC Films will handle theatrical distribution.
