eOne Films US has acquired US rights to Don McKellar’s comedy The Grand Seduction starring Brendan Gleeson and Taylor Kitsch.

Roger Frappier and Barbara Doran produced the story about villagers frantic attempts to coax a young doctor to help them bring jobs to the area in the form of a petrochemical plant.

Michael Dowse and Ken Scott wrote the screenplay and the film premiered in Toronto last autumn.

eOne is planning a summer theatrical release after negotiating rights with Jeff Sackman on behalf of the producers. eOne holds UK and Canadian rights.
