The companies are in final negotiations to close an exclusive multi-year deal whereby FilmNation will oversee international sales and distribution on Relativity’s single picture titles outside of those pursuant to the co-financed slates set up at Universal and Sony.

The partnership is set to begin before the EFM kicks off in Berlin next month. Final details of the deal will be disclosed in the coming weeks along with the films that will fall into this new arrangement.

The companies are collaborating on upcoming Relativity / Universal release, James Cameron’s Sanctum (pictured), with FilmNation handling international sales.

Lionsgate will continue to handle titles previously sold on Relativity’s behalf, including Season Of The Witch, Limitless, Immortals 3D, Untitled Farrelly Brothers Comedy and Haywire (aka Knock Out).

Relativity’s 2011 slate includes the current Nicolas Cage release Season Of The Witch, as well as Take Me Home Tonight starring Topher Grace and Anna Faris that is set for release in the US on March 4 and Limitless starring Bradley Cooper, Abbie Cornish and Robert De Niro set for March 18. Untitled David R Ellis 3D Shark Thriller will open on September 2.
