VOD release set for 12 Russian titles from Roskino’s catalogue.
Russian film promoter Roskino and US agent Gravitas Ventures has secured a packed deal with Hulu.
The move will see the online video firm release 12 titles on its main and Hulu Plus services this month.
The package includes post-war drama The Edge, which was selected as the Russian entry for Best Foreign Language film at the 2011 Academy Awards, and The Stroll, which received a Golden Eagle award from the Russian National Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences.
Roskino CEO Catherine Mtsitouridze said: “This will mark the first time that a fine selection of Russian films will be available to a wider US audience. It is a huge opportunity for our independent filmmakers to be exposed in such a way to the US market.”
