Imagenation Abu Dhabi and Ashok Amritraj’s Hyde Park Entertainment Group have acquired international rights to Columbia Pictures GhostRider—Spirit of Vengeance.

It is shooting now in Romania. The sequel will star Nicolas Cage, Violante Placido, Ciaran Hinds, Johnny Whitworth and Idris Elba.

Sony will release the film in 3D in the US in 2012, and Hyde Park International is selling world rights.

Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor (Crank) direct from a screenplay by Scott M. Gimple & Seth Hoffman and Neveldine & Taylor, and a story by David S. Goyer, based on the Marvel Comic. 

Steven Paul, Ashok Amritraj, Michael De Luca, Avi Arad and Ari Arad are producers.  The executive producers are E. Bennett Walsh, David S. Goyer, Stan Lee, Mohammed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Edward Borgerding, and Mark Steven Johnson. Stefan Brunner and Manu Gargi are co-producing.

Imagenation Abu Dhabi and Hyde Park Entertainment’s partnership, launched in late 2008, which earmarks $250 million to develop, produce and distribute up to 20 feature films over seven years.
