Lorber Films has acquired all US rights to the Swiss foreign-language Academy Awards submission Home, starring Isabelle Huppert .
Ursula Meier’s second feature premiered in Critics’ Week in Cannes and is set to open in New York on November 27 prior to national roll-out.
Huppert and Olivier Gourmet play parents whose idyllic family life is transformed by the construction of a highway next to their home.
“Ursula Meier’s humanistic vision seizes on a highway as a metaphor for ecological degradation but really brings it home as an invasion of a once happy family’s country life,” Lorber said.
Tanja Meissner of Paris-based Memento Films International negotiated the deal with Richard Lorber.
