Scandinavian distributor Scanbox Entertainment has hired Lorianne Hall to join the acquisitions team buying theatrical and home entertainment projects for the company.

Hall, an industry veteran in Europe and the US, has been serving as an acquisitions consultant for the company for the past eight months. She is based in London and will be attending Cannes for the company.

Hall previously served as head of development and creative producer for Ireland’s Samson Films, literary agent at The Paul Kohner Agency, creative executive at US-based Beacon Pictures and head of development/creative producer at UK production company Ipso Facto.

Sigurjon Sighvatsson, chairman of Scanbox Entertainment, said: “We are thrilled to have Lorianne on board at Scanbox. Her vast experience and background in the various aspects of the film industry will be greatly beneficial to the Scanbox acquisitions team.”

Hall added: “I’m very excited to be working in the Scandinavian territory and with such an established and respected company as Scanbox. We’ve bought some great films over the past few months and this year is going to be great for us. I am so happy to be involved and part of the team.”

Scanbox’s recent acquisitions include Sundance hits Buried, The Kids Are Alright and Animal Kingdom as well as Street Dance 3D and Woody Allen’s Midnight In Paris.
