Magnolia Pictures acquired worldwide rights from WME Global to Casey Affleck’s directorial debut I’m Still Here.

The film chronicles a tumultuous year in the life of Joaquin Phoenix from his retirement from film in late 2008 to his reinvention as a hip-hop artist.

Magnolia will release I’m Still Here on September 10. Magnolia’s senior vice-president Tom Quinn, acquisitions vice-president Dori Begley and head of business affairs Chris Matson negotiated the deal with Liesl Copland for WME Global.
