Oscilloscope Laboratories has jumped into the Toronto feeding frenzy, taking North American rights to Kelly Reichardt’s Western drama Meek’s Cutoff.

The film reunites O-Scope with Reichardt after they collaborated on the 2008 release Wendy And Lucy.

Meek’s Cutoff screened in Venice and Toronto and takes place in 1845 on the Oregon Trail as three families hire an unreliable mountain man to lead them over the Cascade Mountains

Elizabeth Cuthrell, David Urrutia, Anish Savjani and Neil Kopp produced.

O-Scope negotiated the deal with negotiated by Cinetic Media and will release the film in the first half of 2011.
