Paramount has moved the world premiere of Iron Man 2 from London to Los Angeles after the spread of volcanic ash from Iceland shut down most airports across northern Europe.

The event was originally scheduled to take place at the Vue Westfield in London on April 26. However studio sources felt it prudent to make the switch in light of ongoing uncertainty over travel arrangements.

Paramount will confirm the venue and date of the world premiere in due course. The press junket will also take place in Los Angeles.

Advanced discussions are in progress about a special screening at the Vue Westfield.
