Film Movement has bought US rights to Philippe Lioret’s French, English and Arabic-language drama Welcome (pictured).

The film paints a portrait of two men wrestling with issues of lost love and alienation, while exploring larger contemporary themes of illegal immigration and covert border crossings.

Firat Ayverdi, Vincent Lindon and Audrey Dana star in the film, which played in official selection in the Karlovy Vary, Seattle, Mumbai, Dubai and Shanghai festivals, among others.

Film Movement has set a second quarter 2010 release. Film Movement president Adley Gartenstein negotiated the deal with Film’s Distribution’s Francois Yon.
