Screen Media Films acquired Matt Osterman’s debut feature Phasma Ex Machina, which has been a pupular player on the festival circuit.

Screen Media Films president Robert Baruc and Screen Media Ventures evp David T Fannon acquired the film from XYZ Films’ Nate Bolotin. The supernatural thriller is scheduled for release in the second quarter on DVD/VOD under the updated title Ghost From The Machine.

The film has played in more than a dozen festivals and follows a young man who must care for his younger

brother after their parents die and invents a supernatural machine that transports the user to the afterlife. Jennifer Kramer produced and Bleiberg Entertainment is handling international sales.
