The studio has taken Noah Baumbach’s imminent Sundance world premiere off the table, swooping on world rights to the comedy starring Greta Gerwig and newcomer Lola Kirke.

Baumbach and Gerwig co-wrote the RT Features story about Brooke, a Times Square resident who ropes Tracy, a college freshman and her soon-to-be stepsister, into her madcap schemes.

Baumbach, Scott Rudin, Lila Yacoub, Rodrigo Teixera and Gerwig produced.

Mistress America is scheduled to open this year.

Fox Searchlight’s acquisitions team brokered the deal with UTA on behalf of the film-makers.
