Kyle Smith’s real-time comedy set in Los Angeles premiered at SXSW and follows a group of friends who gather to play a backyard game of American Football.
Smith produced with Stephen Paratore and Turkey Bowl stars Kerry Bishé, Zoe Perry, Zeke Hawkins and Tom DiMenna. Tribeca Film plans a late June release.
“We are incredibly pleased to be bringing the debut from a talented young director, Kyle Smith, to audiences,” Geoffrey Gilmore the chief creative officer at Tribeca Enterprises, said. “Turkey Bowl is a very special film with a spot-on depiction of sports and friendships.”
“Everyone involved with Turkey Bowl is humbled by the reception the film has received,” Smith said. “We look forward to reaching a wider audience through Tribeca.”
Nick Savva negotiated the deal for Tribeca with attorney George M Rush representing Smith.
