Theatrical launch planned for 2012; VOD/DVD release in 2013.

Wolfe Releasing has acquired North American rights to Indion Entertainment/Maya Entertainment Sundance feature Mosquita y Mari.

The deal was brokered through The Film Collaborative.

Writer/Director Aurora Guerrero’s debut feature is a coming-of-age story about the complicated love between two young Latinas growing up in South East L.A. Fenessa Pineda and Venecia Troncoso star.

“Aurora Guerrero is a tremendously talented young filmmaker,” said Wolfe President Maria Lynn. “Mosquita y Mari is an exceptionally high quality film with a genuinely unique and tender story to tell about young love. We are very excited to have it on the Wolfe label and to bring it to the widest audience possible.”

“We are excited about the opportunity to be working with Wolfe. They have been fans and supporters of our project from early on and it’s a pleasure to know the film will be in the hands of someone that believes in it,” added producer Chad Burris.

The Film Collaborative will be releasing theatrically in 2012. Wolfe plans to release the film on VOD and DVD in 2013.
