Los Angeles-based productionand international sales outfit Dream Entertainment has acquired internationalrights to Waterfront Productions' horror documentary HH Holmes: America'sFirst Serial Killer from filmmakerJohn Borowski.

The first feature-lengthdocumentary about Herman Mudgett, also known as HH Holmes or the TortureDoctor, chronicles the serial killer's life and the torture chambers he set upin the surreal castle where he rented rooms to unsuspecting visitors to the1893 World Fair in Chicago.

The picture won the bestdocumentary prize at the Screamfest Horror Film Festival, among others, andpreviously played in official selection at the Chicago InternationalDocumentary Festival.

Dream Entertainment's seniorvice president of acquisitions and development Karen Roberts brought thepicture to Dream and negotiated the deal on behalf of the company.

Dream will take the pictureto the upcoming MIPTV market in Cannes, and beyond.

"John Borowski did abrilliant job capturing and bringing to life the horrifying events and actionssurrounding HH Holmes life over 100 years ago," Dream chairman and chiefexecutive officer Ehud Bleiberg said in a statement.

The Dream slate includessupernatural comic book thriller El Muerto starring Wilmer Valderrama; war thriller Straight Into Darkness; mockumentary Sex Sells; horror title Monster Man 2; and comedy Manfast, starring Jeremy Sisto.
